Evening Readers,
My Saturday stunk so bad. I had set out to scratch a scrap yarn itch around noon, hitting a few thrift stores to no avail. I'd been haunted by 2 skeins of linen yarn in antique rose at 2 bucks a pop. WHY, Elle, WHY? I now wonder what in the hell was going on in my life that I couldn't stand to lose four dollars? Ugh!
I'm so over it (I guess), moving along.
My last post I shared a shrug using the granny square pattern and since then, I've been swept away in the fad I once deemed hideous (I'm so sorry). I totally understand now, trust me, I'm there! I skipped this stage in my early journey of Crochet about five years ago. It didn't seem challenging enough and I failed to explore the capacity of this simple square. It's quick! I need that in my life! Since last Saturday I've managed to complete two shrugs and a skirt. I love a quick work project and you can make literally anything with this repetitive motion simply by repeating the round for as long as you like for your desired length, weaving in tails, and binding your squares together. This platform of "working in the round" makes way for other shapes as well.
I wanted to share a couple of sites that have great written instructions as well as pictorials and links to videos for all of the visual learners out there (raises hand). These ladies did an excellent job of explaining stitch by stitch why this craze is highly addictive and synonymous with the art of Crochet.
Here you go, lovelies:
