Fall is Here!
If you've been checking out my blog, you know that I simply adore Fall. I love the inspiration for new color palettes that nature introduces every year, as well as ones from the color reports such as Pantone. I'm an avid thrifter, so when a new season dawns I have to cruise the retail stores to see what's new with color trends. Honestly, my biggest go-to is: the children's department! I do have particular brands that I visit to get an idea of what colors I need to shop for and how I can create accent pieces for outfits on the sales floors.
I made my yarn selections early this season, and I've thoroughly enjoyed crafting with those colors. I'm very pleased with how pretty the finished projects are turning out. Once a project is completed, I start to get the itch for another yarn hunt, with leftover skeins abandoned in my cabinet. This year I've disciplined myself to use up every ounce before I make any future purchases. I now look at the scenario as not needing more yarn, but needing new projects to embark on with the yarn I have. It's hard at times, honestly! But who doesn't like being resourceful and economically conscious? I feel like it's better to pick a project first, then buy your fiber. A lot of artists may agree, "hello, where have you been?" Under a rock I suppose because once I see new yarn, pretty colors, and a few extra dollar in my pockets I'm in the checkout line looking over my shoulders!
I'm going to be a good girl the rest of my days, I promise.
