I promised to have a pattern up for the drawstring pants I completed last week. Although I'm a day late, I've made good on my word and I'm here to deliver the goods. Now to those of you that are like me, and can crochet on a difficult level but hate reading through patterns, I will post an abbreviated pattern first. Then, the written out pattern will follow. I think that one of the reasons why I choose to freehand crochet is because some patterns are hard to determine if written unclearly, and assumptions turn into a lot of missed stitches and rounds. That's no good! So, here's your pattern:
ABBREVIATED VERSION:
1. ch 35
2. hdc in 3rd ch frm hk.
3. hdc in nxt st down to the end of ch.
4. ch 2, turn. rpt step 3 for a total of 7x
5. ch 3, dc down to the end of row, ch 3, turn.
6. rpt step 5 4x
(you should still have a total of 32 st and 12 rows)
7. ch 3, turn, dc in the next 16 st, turn
8. ch 3, rpt step 7 (17x)
*if you desired a more tapered leg, dc2tog in the 1st and last st of your row, EVERY 6TH ROW*
9. sl st and break off yarn, attach yarn to the 1st st of the opp side of your 12th row (ch 3)
10. turn, dc in same st and down to the end of row, turn.
11. ch 3, rpt step 10 (17x) sl st, and break yarn.
12. do steps 1-11 a second time, take both pieces and stack them together, seam up the outside and inside of the legs, make a chain twice the measurement of the pant's waist, break yarn and weave through the waist and voila!!! c'est fini! (it's finished!)
